Professor Cai Yiyu

At Nanyang Technological University, Professor Yiyu Cai heads the Computer-aided Engineering Labs, and directs the Strategic Research Program of VR and Softcomputing. He has over 20 years’ experience in research and development on virtual & augmented reality (VAR) and their applications in Building & Construction, Petrochemicals, Medicine and Education. He has 6 patents invented all related to VAR. His innovations are licensed to industries. As principal investigator, he is actively working on several industry oriented projects in the fields of VAR, Artificial Intelligence, and Robotics. His research is well supported by both public and private funding agencies including National Research Foundation, Temasek Trust Funded Singapore Millennium Foundation, etc. He is the former co-president of International Simulation and Gaming Association.
